Project Overview

With stadiums void of fans due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Goodyear decided that just because the stadiums were empty didn’t mean the fans couldn’t have a voice. So they ran a social media campaign asking college football fans which four teams they thought were worthy of making the 2020 College Football Playoffs.  As part of the PR push, our clients at The Marketing Arm reached out to ASV to produce a giant football bracket and choreograph a reveal to be captured by the Goodyear Blimp as well as ground crews.

Measuring in at 40’x70’, we printed and installed this giant bracket graphic on the roof deck of the College Football Hall of Fame parking garage and added 10’x10’ team logos on top of it for the reveal.  Safety being paramount, roughly 400’ of aircraft cable was used to secure this monster graphic, and our choreography for the reveal had to be just right as we only had a small window of availability with the Goodyear blimp.  With multiple camera crews on the ground, in addition to the blimp above, we captured several takes of our team revealing each team logo, timed with several rounds of lighting smoke bombs to further highlighting the Goodyear brand colors.

While it took about a day and a half to fully install and secure this huge graphic and all the other elements that went with it, we were able to shoot the content needed and fully edit a teaser spot onsite, in just a few hours.  ESPN aired the spot during their College GameDay broadcast to millions of College Football fans who were able to see their picks on the big screen!
